The best way to discover these lands is on foot; walking unhurriedly, traversing its places full of natural jewels. Dumbría has several routes that will take you to the most beautiful and impressive places on the Costa da Morte.

MONTE PINDO

Consequence of the oceanic climate present in the City of Dumbría is the wide variety of habitats and animal and plant species present here. Part of the Dumbría landscape is part of the Carnota-Monte Pindo SCI , integrated into the Natura 2000 Network.
 
Dumbría offers a great wealth and landscape diversity. You can stroll along the beach, climb granite mountains, walk through valleys and contemplate rivers of generous flows.

TRACK FOOTPRINTS OF HISTORY

 

This is the easiest route to ascend to A Moa. It runs at all times on the east side of the massif, so when you reach the top the view of the ocean is sudden and amazing. Like the “Peñafiel Castle Route”, we start in the village of O Fieiro and ascend along a forest track until we enter the mountain along cobbled paths. Continuing the ascent you reach the "Alto das Cortes", from where you get a panoramic view of Carnota beach. We continue and cross the remains of ancient walls and the area of ​​wild horse pastures already close to the top.

 

Route features:

  • Length of the route: 3,900m (+/-)

  • Average slope: 7%

  • Starting elevation: 290 meters above sea level

  • End elevation: 628 meters above sea level

  • Elevation gain: 338m

  • Difficulty: low - medium

CASTLE TOUR PEÑAFIEL

We start in the village of O Fieiro and descend along a forest track until we enter the mountain along cobbled paths. We ascend to the base of Peñafiel Peak, where Peñafiel Castle used to be. At its top is the fertility bed, where barren marriages came to be able to conceive. At a detour of the route is one of the most colossal natural formations, the Cova da Xoana, once used as a crematorium. We continue the ascent until we join the "Atlantic Looks Route" at the base of the Moa.

ROUTE OF THE ATLANTIC OLLADAS

 

The path starts from the square of the church of O Pindo. As soon as we started we found numerous water mills and a cave in which the escapees of the Civil War took refuge. We continue to O Pedrullo, where you can still see the remains of the walls that once surrounded the primitive construction. After walking a short distance we arrive at the "Chan de Lourenzo", an open space where the Giant of the Chan de Lourenzo is and what is left of a tungsten farm. From this place we can see the summit of A Moa.

PEDRULLO CASTLE WAY ROUTE

We begin the itinerary that will guide us to A Moa from the picturesque village of Vadebois. We cross Chan das Lamas from where we can see the great magnitude of Monte Pindo. Following the existing signage we arrive at “O Pedrullo”; here we link to the “Atlantic Lookout Route” and the route begins to be harder and ascending.

  • Average slope: 12%

  • Starting height: 15 meters above sea level

  • End elevation: 628 meters above sea level

  • Elevation gain: 613m

  • Difficulty: medium - high

Waterfalls and viewpoint ÉZARO

 

This is an ideal route to get to know the town of O Ézaro, its magical waterfall and its mythical viewpoint.

 

On the coast, we will have the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular mouth of the river Xallas-Ézaro and its waterfall, the Ézaro Waterfall. And as the end of the route, we can see an impressive sunset at the Atlantic viewpoint: the Ézaro Viewpoint.
