It is said that in Fisterra was the Ara Solis, an altar to the sun built by the peoples who inhabited these lands before the arrival of the Romans.

 

Pilgrims enter Dumbría lands crossing the Ponte Olveira bridge (17th-18th centuries), the scene of the Napoleonic battles. They continue towards the village of Olveiroa, whose medieval layout is reflected in its streets and buildings. A true haven of peace where the pilgrim can regain strength to face a new journey along the way after resting in the pilgrims' hostel.

 

A new stage of the path will cross the Vákner Territory; abode of the monster that devoured pilgrims. This stage starts from Olveiroa to go up to Monte Sino towards Logoso; a small village in the shadow of his castro. The Pilgrim continues to Hospital, a name inherited from the existence of an old pilgrims' hospital in this place and which was also destroyed by Napoleonic troops. Today it has an Information Point for Pilgrims to guide them on their way. At this point, the path forks and the pilgrim will have to decide where to go: Fisterra or Muxía.

 

If you choose to go towards Fisterra, you will find the petroglyph of Pedra Ancha, the Marco do Couto cruise ship, the Sanctuary of the Virxe das Neves and who knows if you will also find the vákner…

 

But if you decide to go to Muxía, you will discover magnificent places and you will be able to recharge your batteries for a new day in the modern facilities of the pilgrims' hostel in Dumbría. Maybe even the vákner walks around those days…
